Information about the Department

Department of Software Engineering (K7) is part of the Department of Computer Science and Management (W8) at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. It was established on July 20, 2016. Head of the Department is Lech Madeyski, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor.

The department employs 5 independent research workers, including one person with the full professor degree and 4 associate professors, 9 assistant professors, 2 assistants and 10 persons of education staff, including 4 docents and 6 senior lecturers. Employees are required to conduct research and teaching activities.

Employees of the department are responsible for the organization of courses in the field Computer Science at the 1st and 2nd level of studies in the stationary and non-stationary mode (more information on the Didactics page).

As part of the activities of the department, post-graduate studies are also conducted in the fields of: Administration of Computer Networks, Business Analysis, Internet Technologies and Project Management (more information about the studies is available here).

Department workers are the mentors of student scientific societies: Software Engineering SEnS, “Progressive, Reliability and Security of Information Systems, PIAST.NET (more information about student research activities is available here).

The staff of Department of Software Engineering is also involved in the promotion of science, organizing and conducting lectures and demonstrations, for example, as parts of the Lower Silesian Science Festival.
